Five Things To Say To Yourself Every Morning

How you start, is how you finish. Starting your day off with a positive and refreshing attitude can truly set the tone for the whole day! But yes, we know that sometimes you just straight up wake up in a bad mood. We have ALL been there. However, what if we told you that when you open your eyes and *choose* to have a positive mindset, you can create boundless opportunities and potential across your whole life? Yes, it’s possible.

The act of choosing positive self-talk, aka saying positive things to yourself, is incredibly beneficial not only for yourself, but for the relationships in your life.

Studies have shown that positive self-talk can add more years to your life, improve your physical and emotional health, and reduce daily stress. In short, what you say to yourself could determine a lot about how you feel about yourself. - Thrive Global

Below are five of our favorite positive affirmations to start the morning, (or at any point in the day when you need a little pick-me-up):

1. I am grateful for ___.

The research behind expressing gratitude is extremely robust! Benefits include: enhancing optimism, increases self-esteem, can make us overall happier, and makes us more giving. Instead of focusing on the negative or challenging things in your life, focus on what you do have.

"Focusing on one thing that you are grateful for increases the energy of gratitude

and rises the joy inside yourself."  - Oprah Winfrey

2. Today is a new day!

How lucky are you! You’ve woken up to another beautiful day in your body. Acknowledging that today is a new beginning, regardless of what may have taken place yesterday, creates a sense of hope and optimism.

3. I can achieve anything I want to do

The only thing stopping you, is you. There is no reason in the world why you shouldn’t have a life of abundance and be able to attain everything your heart could possibly want. Today, you are one step closer to your dreams; especially if you put positive energy into it.

4. Life always goes on

Remember, the only constant is change (one of our favorite quotes.) You are stronger than you even know and regardless of what has happened or will happen, this too shall pass.

5. I am in control of my own happiness

Nothing or no one else controls your happiness. Despite the ability for other people and experiences to impact how you may feel, you are the full authority on what makes YOU happy. Own it! Happiness takes work and commitment and you owe it to yourself.
